anna katherine taking them from sara.

sara calling anna katherine a "poo poo" and "loser."

mom telling sara to apologize to anna katherine.

sara sticking her tongue out.

mom emphatically telling sara to apologize.

sara telling mom that THIS is the way she says i'm sorry.

...better than ice cream...

i went to the atlanta mart today under the guise of buying for two monkeys and me. but look what i got for my very own self! (self grinning from ear to ear about this time)

p.s. the best news is that they were both very reasonably priced

p.p.s. here's what i really wanted to purchase but DIDN'T :( (me exercising self discipline)

what are the things you are holding off from getting but would really like to buy?

...fashion advice sil vous plait...

so i need a jacket to wear with jeans.

i'm at least savvy enough to know that a
blue jean jacket matched with a pair of blue jeans is a FAUX PAS. i know this because i asked my fashion diva friend nikki all about this a year or two ago, and ever since i've been on the hunt for the perfect jacket to pair with blue jeans.

a black leather jacket is great for winter, and i can even think of other wintery type coats that would work. but what about summer?

i was thinking about a white jean jacket. i would think this would work perfectly, but it can't be a good sign that i'm having a hard time finding one for sale at any reasonably fashionable store (gap, old navy, etc.) does that mean they are out of style? hmpf.

so what's a girl to do?
what do you take to wear in a restaurant or movie theater in the summer months when you get chilly? right now it's a fleece pullover for me.

i need help. post me some links for the perfect pairing. i'm ready to BUY SOMETHING.

... 4 bloggers hangin' at camp...

here's a little video annie took of brad, justin, and myself during the youth camp dance (which was clearly oh so exciting hence a video blog was taken during it.)  annie was teaching me all sorts of fabulous tricks on my macbook pro so look for videos galore in the future. :)

...snapshots of youth camp 08...

2 words: abandonment and brokenness

...river of delights ...

every time i turn around, i feel like i'm having conversations about weight watchers and foods that have low point values.  for those of you who aren't familiar with weight watchers, you work off a certain amount of points you can eat each day according to your current height, age, activity level, etc.
even if you aren't doing weight watchers, these are great items to eat that will help you maintain or lose your weight.

my non negotiables:
1.  frozen grapes--- have you tried these? buy some grapes NOW. and freeze them. irresistable. 1 cup = 1 point. steve and i eat these almost every night.
2.  ww latte or fudge bars- 4 oz of delicious goodness. sooo yummy and only 1 point! nightly delight as well.
3.  ww key lime pie yogurt- it's dy-no-mite! 1 point. 50 cents each at walmart grocery.
4.  smart ones broccoli and cheddar potatoes- 4 points of cheesy goodness. red russet potatoes roasted to perfection with generous amounts of crisp broccoli. my favorite quick meal.
5.  ww smoothie mix- only available at ww locations. i use half of a pack each morning (half point), blended with 6 oz. dannon light and fit vanilla (1 point), and either a banana or strawberries. i eat this every morning, almost without exception.
6.  fiber one oats and caramel bar- 2 points. always in my purse for emergency snack.
7.  alternative bagel- in the bakery at publix. 1 point and yummy. usually accompanies my smoothie for breakfast.
8.  flamed grilled boca burger- 1 point. usually paired with thomas' whole wheat bagelbread and fat free or 2% cheddar.
9.  mini bags of microwave popcorn- 1 point and always a nice filler.

these are my favorites. and i'm always up for more choices. so tell me, internets, what's your favorite healthy, low cal meal or snack?

...OMG!...

i wasn't kidding when i blogged about the abundance of ticks up here in the boonies. STEVE JUST PULLED A TICK OFF MY HEAD.  i'm definitely weirded out. seriously, i cannot believe between the two of us we've had THREE ticks in the last 2 weeks.

ultimately, we probably won't die, but i will admit that i have been reading about all sorts of diseases that can be contracted from a tick bite.

here are just a few:
southern tick-associated rash illness
tick-borne relapsing fever

so, if you don't see any blogs posted here in the next few weeks, you'll know why. be sure to call 911 please...

... you go girl!...

here is the monster slide at our neighborhood pool. anna katherine has been eyeing this thing since the moment we drove into the neighborhood! the first minute we walked through the pool gate, she headed immediately up the large hill (alone even!) to conquer this challenge. unfortunately for her, the lifeguard said she was too little and sent her back down.
the NEXT time we went to the pool she gave it another shot. and the lifeguard on duty at that time let her do it. hello, y'all, my baby is only FIVE. i was so proud of her! she must have climbed the hill and gone down this slide 6 or 7 times that day.
so, in honor of her great achievement, i'm documenting this adventure on the blog. these photos aren't of the first trip down, but, hey, i'm just proud of myself for actually taking these at all. :)
that's her at the top, ready for the flume
the fall into the pool
emerging victorious and proud! that's my girl!
